Martial Arts has been a large part of my life since I started training in Karate in1990. Although I am a full-time support coach in mixed classes, my focus is teaching women and children self defence.
From an early age I have always been involved in sport of some kind or another. With netball, football and rock climbing being my main interest at the time, I decided to try something new when a friend introduced me to Shotokan Karate and in 2004 I was awarded my 1st Dan black belt.
In 2011 I began training in the Israeli combat system of Krav Maga and in 2013 became the first female in the UK and Europe to train as full-time support coach in CT707 Israeli Krav Systems.
As a registered child minder of 13 years, combined with my qualification as a netball coach, I have been in a fortunate position to regularly train and work with both women and children. It is with this experience combined with my combat training background that I offer reality based self defence classes specifically designed for Women and Children.
